Jay Daniel
Jay is the founder, president and principal photographer of Black Cat Studio.
Jay’s Milestones
- 1951: born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in San Anselmo, Marin County, California.
- 1968: attends Sir Francis Drake High School, San Anselmo, CA. Graduates with honors.
- 1975: graduates UC Berkeley, BS graduate in Bacteriology.
- 1976: begins Graduate Studies in Public Health, UC Berkeley.
- 1976: begins photography studies at the College of Marin, Kentfield, CA.
- 1976-1978: employed in the Clinical Lab of Presbyterian Hospital, Berkeley, CA
- 1979: publishes first image on a magazine cover called ‘Wooden Boat’.
- 1980: opens first studio, Jay Daniel Associates, Fairfax, CA.
- 1982: purchased Macintosh computer (64 K).
- 1983: photographed first annual report, Mills Peninsula Hospital.
- 1985: exhibits Naked Cafe photographs at Artisans Gallery, Mill Valley, CA.
- 1985: moves studio to San Rafael, CA.
- 1989: photographed Oakland A’s program covers.
- 1989: moves studio to current location.
